FASHION ME MEN: THE LIYON (GODFREY)

Hey Dolls, Our event is getting super lit, two features down and we are still going strong! Sending out tones of love to our previous feature Tanaka, the most classic in all the land. Stay slaying us in these streets! Honestly, am super excited about our next feature, my partner in all things creativity and slay. Ladies I give you, Godfrey (The Liyon) of Liyon Media. The nature of the brand has evolved over the years. It was solely a platform for his photography services. Since then it has grown to incorporate videography, marketing and designing services as a part of its product mix. Currently, Godfrey is focusing mostly on the photography element. He is revamping the website, rearranging content on all his social media platforms and changing the whole outlook of the brand.  I feel like no one is more excited about Liyon Media than I am because I have seen this amazing brand grow and progress over the years, from our days at Rhodes University until now. Godfrey doesn’t even know this but just from watching him over the years, I have learnt that the vision is constantly changing and growing and I shouldn’t be afraid to embrace that change and to chase and catch new ideas as they come through. Godfrey tells me that more collaborations and engagements with other creatives are on the way and we need to keep our eyes open for that! Godfrey absolutely loves what he does and he trusts that it shows in the way he conducts his activities, and through the quality and feel of his efforts. Photo shoots with The Liyon are set to be fun, engaging and fulfilling. Godfrey values a space that welcomes free expression, fun, warm spirits and lots of energy. “We play hard, but we also work hard and do what we need to do” says Godfrey. He also tries to keep things as natural as possible which is mostly outlined in the way he edits and manipulates the content that he creates. Godfrey is super excited about the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa going down in July 2017. He will be fully engaged in as many shows as humanely possible. He loves festivals and a chance to do Event photography mainly because he gets to interact with a large array of personalities. Godfrey’s style is mostly easy going outfits that fit well and are comfortable. He isn’t big on ‘shouting’ colors, he is more conservative. Red, black, grey, white are at the top of his list.  A minimalist approach to designs and patterns is good for him. Godfrey is usually behind the camera but when he makes an appearance he believes first impressions are key and he always delivers!
